The identity for »The Essence 07«, annual exhibition of the University of Applied Arts Vienna  in the MAK was dedicated to the search for unknown images with science-based picturing methods. During the layout process the value of art was questioned and examined in different ways. The starting point, a random 10 EUR bill, was abstracted from its original context by different methods of representation until it was hardly recognisable. Only the star in the lower left corner reveals the origin of the motif. The bill sets the stage on which in the end neon-glowing worms suddenly buzz in a dark nocturnal landscape.

The cover series discusses the political shift of the magazine. On the second page of the magzine the cover is printed once again - this time in its correct position - together with a revocatory declaration; exhibited at »what the world needs« at the Forum Mozartplatz in Vienna and on www.wasbrauchtdiewelt.net

KAPUzine is the fanzine of the culture initiative KAPU in Linz (Upper Austria), and is published six times a year. From 2004 until 2007 we implemented a redesign and produced several issues.

The concept of the graphic design class's exhibition in the MAK focused on the theme of »communication guerilla« in a multilayered fashion.
The works of the individual students have been deliberately de-placed and instead positioned throughout the museum in stark contrast to other classes and their works. Despite the decentralised and diverse medial interpretations the classe's projects are recognised as part of the all encompassing theme through light blue tiles covered in rubber granulate positioned around them. Visitors will not immediately recognise the typography on these light blue tiles, instead these will be exposed gradually by the close observer, which ultimately will spread a blue trace throughout the rooms and the entire museum transforming the observer into active participants.
